An integrity model that has worked beautifully since 2008.
As we feel the reverberations of collapse and catastrophic climate change in our lives, I continue to notice that they are nudging-or catapulting us-into a new paradigm. Old perceptions and methods aren’t working, and they haven’t been working for a long time. We now have the opportunity, wanted or not, to experience new ways of being, feeling, thinking, and living on earth.
I certainly notice this as I manage the Truth To Power website, gather and send out the daily news, and correspond by email with many of you. One thing I notice is that the subscription list is growing so fast that my head is spinning. I also notice is that compiling the daily news digest has become unsustainable because of the time and energy I invest without compensation.
As I consider what it takes to bring you the daily news and answer personal emails, the word “value” comes to mind. In the old paradigm of American capitalism there is a set price for a service and if people want the service they pay the price. It’s all or nothing, either/or. I want to invite you to step into a different relationship.
I’d like you to consider the means you have at your disposal and the value you receive from your Truth to Power daily subscription and then act with integrity to support what you value with the means you have.
A NEW PARADIGM MODEL OF DOING BUSINESS
As we enter a radically changing world where money may lose its value and barter may be a primary means of exchange, we’ll have to think deeply about the value of what we have to offer and what we receive in return.
For this reason, in 2008 I moved the financing of Truth To Power’s services into an “integrity model.” That means that we will operate on a voluntary, suggested, sliding scale, based on income. Subscribers contribute monthly or yearly, operating out of integrity, according to their means and the value they receive.
This is the suggested sliding scale:

No one has to disclose how much they make, nor will I ask. Everything will be based on the subscriber’s integrity. I will send out a monthly reminder inviting you to consider what your means are and the value you receive from my efforts. You may or may not choose for your own reasons to contribute. You may choose not to contribute for one or many months and then return to paying a monthly fee on a regular basis. No one monitors you; it’s all based on your integrity and the value to you of the news you are receiving seven days a week.
WHAT YOU GET
After this model is implemented, you will receive three things for your subscription fee:
- The daily news digest with personal comments on many stories. Seven days weekly I carefully gather and bundle news stories pertaining to our uncertain future and send them to your inbox.
- Personal responses to your emails to me.
- To the extent that I can access them, you will receive many options for responding to the news you receive every day. I want this news service to provide as many options for collapse preparation as possible.
